Camping area

Last year, the 20 hectares that made up the camping area catered for all the participants who opted for staying three days and three nights in the festival area. At the 1997 festival, where the number of passes put on sale has increased by 28%, the public camping area will cover an area of 30 hectares, split into four large zones, which means a 50% increase on last year. In other words, more space per person.

The plan is to improve this area with specific measures such as signposting, lighting, selective refuse collection, the Supermarket service (going from 1 to 3), the sale of “Docs”, the number of telephones and, of course, the number of bathroom services will be increased as well as improving their cleaning and maintenance system. All these services will be complemented with 24-hour information points, and medical services and an area, also operating 24 hours a day, offering a snack-bar service.

Parking area

After last year’s experience, we now have more accurate information about the number of people who come in their own vehicles and on public transport; that allows us to estimate more accurately the amount of land needed.

At the 1996 Doctor Music Festival, 20 hectares were used for the parking area. In 1997, we are planning to increase the area by 50% and, so, we will have a 30 hectare parking area.

Matters such as signposting, lighting, the installation of rubbish and glass containers are going to be improved and the number of staff is going to be increased to make access faster for vehicles and optimise the space.

A distinction will be drawn between the areas for private cars and those for coaches. The parking areas will always be illuminated and supervised by security staff.

All visitors to the festival who come in special vehicles such as trailers, campers, vans, etc., in which one can sleep, will have a special area of the car park nearer the showers, lavatories, supermarket and other camping area services. For technical reasons, light and water will not be provided for caravans.
